In an absolutely stunning display of career suicide, coding platform Windsurf has just launched an AI model specifically designed to make its own engineers obsolete, mere days after being purchased for a sh!t-ton of money by OpenAI.
DIGITAL TECHNICIANS CRAFT THEIR OWN GUILLOTINES
The SWE-1 family of models claims to handle “the entire software engineering lifecycle,” which is corporate-speak for “we’re firing everyone as soon as this thing passes its performance review.” Internal benchmarks suggest it’s already smarter than most of their staff, though they dressed this up with phrases like “outperforms all non-frontier and open weight models.”
“We’ve trained this model to solve problems in every environment software engineers use,” explained Windsurf CEO Dr. Cash Grabbington. “It works in editors, terminals, browsers, and soon, unemployment offices.”
The models feature “flow awareness,” a revolutionary technology that creates a shared timeline between users and AI, allowing them to track exactly when human developers become completely f@#king useless.
TIMING IS EVERYTHING
In an act of suspicious timing that absolutely nobody finds suspicious at all, this release comes just days after OpenAI reportedly acquired Windsurf for $3 billion, a price tag that now seems like the bargain of the century.
“The acquisition was purely coincidental,” insisted Chief Technology Eliminator Sarah Downsizington, while frantically deleting emails. “We definitely didn’t hide the existence of these models during negotiations. That would be illegal, which is why we’re saying we didn’t do it.”

MARKET RESEARCH CONFIRMS: NOBODY FINDS THIS ALARMING
A survey of industry experts found that 97.3% believed this development was “totally normal and not at all concerning” while the remaining 2.7% were too busy updating their LinkedIn profiles to respond.
